The Layer-only Auto rank expression reads the shape of each query — a bare author or title, a few words, or a full sentence — and routes it to hybrid_text (BM25 + fuzzy), semantic (ANN over embeddings), or both fused by reciprocal rank fusion. The badge shows which fired, and why. ~10,000 books from Goodreads.
